There is something truly magical about bringing a community together to cultivate beauty, connect with history, and nurture the earth. On June 18, our community did exactly that at the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church(CMEC) located at 520 E Main Street in Fredericksburg, Texas.
The newly formed Gardening Committee extended an open invitation to everyone—whether seasoned green thumbs or passionate nature lovers—to help plant, grow, and beautify our local historical church grounds.
Beautifying our Historical Church Grounds, Brenna Phillips and friends work to improve and maintain church grounds, getting ready for Juneteenth celebration.
A Community Rooted in Growth
Hosted by Brenna Phillips and Virginia Rosa, the morning was filled with laughter, hard work, and a shared sense of purpose. Volunteers arrived early to beat the Texas heat, eager to dig in and make a visible difference. Volunteers were hard at work tending to the soil, shaping flowerbeds around the beautiful crape myrtles, and laying down the groundwork for future blooms. "Many hands make a beautiful garden," and the truth of that old saying was on full display.
Heartfelt Thank You to HEB!
A major highlight of our project was the incredible generosity of our local H-E-B, which provided a $200 donation in gardening supplies and plants. This generous contribution allowed us to add new greenery and secure the vital tools needed to keep our garden thriving. We are immensely grateful to H-E-B for being such a steadfast partner in supporting local history and community improvement!
A beautiful day of service! Showcasing the tools laid out for progress, our youngest volunteer eager to help, and a few of our dedicated gardeners transforming the flower beds in front of the church.
