Community MLK Jr. Service

Hosted by Gillespie County Ministerial Association
The community MLK Jr. service, hosted by the GIllespie County Ministerial Association, is being held January 19, 2026, beginning at noon. This is an annual community-wide program for all ages to be held at the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CMEC), 520 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, Texas, 78624. Parking is street side with additional parking at the Super 8 Hotel next door and at Texas Regional Bank across the street. The service remembers Dr. King and his legacy of promoting reconciliation in local communities, the nation, and every land, and offers an opportunity to come together with the express purpose of offering prayers for healing and to practice Dr. King's philosophy of speaking truth in love and practicing nonviolence. CMEC, whose mission is to restore, preserve and protect the history and religious traditions of African Americans in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County invites you, along with the Gillespie County Ministerial Association, to pray and stand together against divisive forces in our community and in our world.
